Technically only a virus in name, this project idea came to me while studying computer security. I wanted to see how easy it was to create a potentially malicious program. The results surprised me. With only ~100 lines of VB code, I was able to create a program that could near-completely prevent use of a machine, and that could only be stopped by restarting the system. With a bit more tinkering in Visual Studio I could create an installer file which could install the program with startup running defaulted.
Developed based on an idea given to me by a resident of the Northwood continuing care facility in Halifax, NS. The resident was losing her voice, and expressed that she wanted easy-to-use software which would allow her to communicate basic everyday statements, questions, or requests. I took it upon myself to try and create what she was looking for.
