The Art Association of Australia and New Zealand acknowledges the Larrakia people, the traditional custodians of the land where the Association is currently located. We pay our respects to all First Nations people throughout Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand and to Elders past, present and emerging.
The annual AAANZ Conference brings together art historians, artists and curators each year to share the latest research in the sector. The 2023 conference will be hosted by Griffith University at their Southport Campus on the Gold Coast from Wednesday 6 to Friday 8 December. This will be the first in-person conference since 2019.
Call for Papers open until Friday 31 March 2023 The Australian and New Zealand Journal of Art (ANZJA) is the principal refereed art-history journal for Australia and New Zealand. It is published twice a year and features research from art history, art theory, museum studies and art practice as well as a book and exhibition reviews. Issue 23.2 will be a Special Issue, "Ko Te Moananui-a-Kiwa te wahi whakarahi, The Pacific Ocean joins us all".
