The North Florida Stand Down 2022 was held May 6-7, 2022, at the Al Lawson Multi- Purpose Center at Florida A&M University and served three hundred and three (303) homeless and at-risk veterans; the majority were at-risk veterans. The event was successful due to the collaborative efforts of all parties involved. There were more than sixty-five (65) agencies/service providers and more than 200 hundred persons who volunteered and participated/assisted in this venture. TVO is appreciative of all those sponsors
On May 17-18, 2019 at the North Florida Fairgrounds, the most recent North Florida Stand Down 2019 was held and served three hundred sixty (360) homeless and at-risk veterans; the majority were at-risk veterans. LT COL George Hardy (born June 8, 1925) is a highly decorated member of the famed group of World War II-era African-American pilots known as the Tuskegee Airmen. Hardy had a 30 year military career and he flew combat missions in three wars. In World War II Hardy flew 21 combat missions. In the Korean War he flew 45 combat mission as the pilot of a bomber. In the Vietnam War Hardy flew flew 70 combat missions piloting an AC-119K gunship
