Katie Britt put an old fashioned whipping on Mo Brooks. She had the financial contributors to run an effective campaign. And her largest non-financial contributor was Mo Brooks. Brooks’ pitiful begging and wild charges increased the margin of victory.
Brooks has not done well in statewide races. He’s now a 3-time loser. His ungracious concession speech on election night didn’t help his future employment prospects. But perhaps he could go back to practicing law (1) if he comes out of this mess with his law license and (2) if anyone is silly enough to hire him as a lawyer.
Wes Allen walloped Jim Zeigler by a surprisingly large margin in the race for Secretary of State. Many thought Zeigler’s name recognition would make it a closer race for the office that administers elections in Alabama. Wes Allen has served as Probate Judge in Troy, Pike County, Alabama and administered those county elections fairly and efficiently.
