The Vietnam war was over and the creative wellspring of music from the late 60’s and early 70’s was drying up. America was losing it’s moral compass and the abomination called the Disco Era was beginning to take root. Traditional music forms like blues and bluegrass were struggling as former music venues eschewed live music to hire DJs and spin records. Musicians struggled to make a living. A band of nightclubs nationwide helped keep roots music alive - Buddies was one of those clubs and this is it’s story.
