Every year, about 10,000 deaths are registered in Uganda with the highest number of cases arising from Northern Uganda mainly because of the 20-year insurgency that crippled most of its infrastructure inclusive of health facilities. These districts include Lira, Oyam, Pader, Lmawo, Kitgum, Gulu, and Oyam among others.
