The School District of University City Adult Education & Literacy Program ( AEL ) provides basic education to adults, ages 16 and over, so they may become productive, self-sufficient, and contributing members of society. As we adjust to the new norm with COVID-19, we are making the necessary adjustments to ensure the quality of our education programs and services are maintained.
The High School Equivalency Test ( HiSET ) is a computer based exam that replaced the GED in January 2014. We offer free online orientation for this new test seveal times a week. We have adjusted our structure to accommodate virtual learning and to prepare students to test online.
Our focus is to provide students whom English is not their primary language understand the power of English words. We assist with vocabulary improvement, comprehension, writing skills, and more. We are offering these classes virtually.
