Example domain paragraphs

Effective altruism (EA) is a new way of thinking about doing good. It’s a set of ideas premised on a desire to improve the lives of others and defined by a commitment to reason and evidence. It’s also a social movement: a community of people who help one another best use their careers, donations, and resources to effect positive change. UChicago EA empowers the UChicago community to apply these ideas—in and beyond their academic and professional careers—and to start doing good better.

What We Do

Learn the fundamentals of effective altruism through our Intro Fellowship , which introduces the core ideas of doing the most good you can with the resources you have. Then discuss how to best apply those ideas and debate cause priorities over weekly meals, reading groups, and career workshops.
