C.S. Lewis once remarked, “if only this toothache would go away, I could write another chapter on the problem of pain.” I don’t have a toothache, but we did get a puppy. This wreaked havoc on my morning routine, to no one’s surprise. I have maintained my sanity by maintaining the most important part of my routine, but my writing obviously suffered.
My goal was to conduct a proper book club, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to succeed here. I will try again, however. I will also (eventually) use the Discourse server I started for book club as the backbone of a general comment system here.
In the meantime, my topic selection will be pretty eclectic, which is more normal for me. I was relieved to discover that even though my writing habit was disrupted, my motivation to write was not. I still need to write, and so I will.
