I’m a research scientist at Google .
Before that, I was a postdoctoral associate in Josh Tenenbaum ’s Computational Cognitive Science Lab in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT . I did my PhD in Frank Wood ’s group in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford . During my PhD, I interned at DeepMind , where I worked with Yee Whye Teh .
I work on probabilistic programming, generative modeling and inference. I like using deep neural networks to speed up sampling algorithms such as importance sampling and sequential Monte Carlo and to make probabilistic programs more flexible. I want to build systems that can understand scenes, agent behavior and learn new concepts.
