鳥の発声器官である鳴管の構造を物理モデリングしたソフトウェアが、無数の「鳥」(地球上に存在しない「鳥」、絶滅した「鳥」も含んだ、可能態としての「鳥」全般である)のさまざまな鳴き声・鳴き方をシミュレーションにより生成出力し続けます（＝Call）。それに対して、自然界の鳥から応答（＝Response）が検出された場合、ソフトウェア自身が進化的学習プロセスを実行し、鳴き方を徐々に洗練・変化させていきます。このプロセスを反復していくことにより、コンピュータと鳥の双方が影響を与えあい、人間の言語を超えた珍奇な「会話」が発生する過程を「観測」する作品です。
