Suemay focuses on strong character-led narrative films with her most recent 4 part series, Flordelis: In The Name of the Mother, out now on HBO Max in the US, LATAM and Brazil.
Suemay series directed & co-wrote this 4 part series over the course of 15 months for HBO Max between London and Rio de Janeiro. The documentary focuses on the spectacular story of the rise and fall of Flordelis, a Brazilian congresswoman, mother to 55 children, preacher and gospel singer. Accused of masterminding her husband’s murder we followed her as she prepared for her trial.
