DISCLAIMER: I spent approximately 5 minutes at 5am on a Monday morning doing these calculations, which is about 10x more research than most people seem to do these days, so feel free to correct my math, or really anything about this argument.
In an effort to somewhat justify (or debunk) my outrage at the royalty rates that Spotify (and all streaming services for that matter) pay out, I did some back-of-the-napkin math.
