The Railroads of the Southern Railway, Yesterday and Today
The Southern Railway (SOU) was created by combining well over 100 railroads across the south. Its rails spanned over 8,000 miles and 13 states, existing between 1894 and 1982. Today, its legacy lives on as part of the Norfolk Southern Railway.
