In an attempt to salvage some social time for my sons, balance the mornings of virtual learning, provide care for sweet kindergartners who would start their academic careers online, and contribute my experience as a teacher to some form of pandemic relief, I felt compelled to start an “outdoor school” with three other families at our home three afternoons a week.
I had a sneaking feeling that it would be a lot of work, but I didn’t realize how much work exactly. I had a hunch that it would benefit the children, but I had no idea how magnificent the impact would be. Some choices in life are simply unregrettable. Providing 13 weeks (and counting!) of outdoor school falls into that category.
