Back in the 80’s Choose Your Own Adventure (CYOA) gamebooks were ever-so-popular. Readers could jump into a story and immediately assume an awesome role of time traveler, private investigator, or spy (my personal favorite). These branching narratives led in many directions, to one of many endings. And seriously – who wouldn’t want to take control of life like that? Simply choose an alternative ending or new path?
When I got into the EdTech world one of the first things that hooked me was the tech version of Choose Your Own Adventure. I think I first saw it done on a Google Form. I know it was at an EdTech Summit in Mountain View – and I wish I could remember the presenter because the idea sunk in. Since then, I have seen several people present on the format, read lots of blog posts, and even have shared a little in presentations myself.
