Welcome to The Madkin Tenants Association site! We are a collective of long-time Capitol Hill residents, fighting to keep our community together. We represent the characters, community members, and workers who are being pushed out of this neighborhood. Our building is up for sale. It has passed through the hands of multiple owners that preserved a legacy of affordable housing for all types of people, most recently business owner and community member Fally Tyson.
But we are afraid that legacy is ending. We want to try to do something about that.
The building itself has a deep connection to Seattle’s Black History. We want the best for Fally’s family. But we also want to preserve our family, the community at The Madkin Apartments.
