I am currently an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research . I also hold affiliations with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) and the Office of Evaluation Sciences . My research on health care providers has studied the effects of behavioral interventions on overprescribing, the adoption of hospital documentation and coding practices, and the relationship between hospital clinical outcomes and market share. In another arm of research, I have considered patient decision-making in insurance markets, looking at how patients shop for and pick insurance plans.
