Who is Ron Merly? Ron is a well-accomplished angler that has been fishing the trout streams of Connecticut for over 45-years. Fly-rod in hand at the age of five, Ron possesses an impressive knowledge for both the fly and spin angler to learn from. Ron is currently working with the Sea-Run Brook Trout Coalition in their efforts to restore salters to Northeastern coastal streams and is also a current member of the Fisheries Advisory Council for the State of Connecticut. Of his many accomplishments to benefit our trout and our waters he is credited with leading the charge to successfully remove dams from CT waterways and for the installation of many fish ladders and state-of-the-art river monitoring systems.
