To prepare your yard for seeding, there are many things you can do, and one of the most cost effective ways to prepare your yard is a yard pulverizer. A yard pulverizer breaks up the top layer of dirt, redistributes the dirt to fill in low areas, and breaking up dirt clods. The yard pulverizer is powered by the motion of the tractor, and requires no PTO or hydraulic flow, it is simply a well designed attachment that can turn your yard into a beautiful, smooth place to sow your grass.
A yard pulverizer is designed with the destruction and realigning of your yard in mind, the first part of the yard pulverizer that will come into contact with your lawn as you drive is the ripper teeth. The ripper teeth are 1/2" thick, 2" wide, and penetrate into the ground approximately 5". The shanks are placed in two separate rows, one row on the front, and the second row is on the back. The shanks are spaced at 4 1/4" on both rows of teeth, with the second row being offset by 2 1/2" creating a rip patte
The shanks are mounted on to a 10" wide I-beam, that weighs 33 lbs. per foot, that's 132 lbs of beam before adding any of the other components. This solid steel construction not only adds weight, but strength also. The I-beam acts much like a box blade after the ground has been ripped up, it pushes the loose dirt allowing a small amount to pass under the bottom to create an even smooth look and fill in any low spots.
