Imagine learning to read and write without a book, paper, or a pencil? Imagine trying to draw a picture without crayons? Honduran public schools, particularly those in rural areas, receive no money from the government for basic school supplies; therefore it falls on the teachers and parents, who make barely enough money to subsist themselves, to buy basic materials out of their own pockets.

Books open worlds and inspire dreams. A student who does not dream is not motivated to learn. Unfortunately, high-quality literature is expensive and difficult to find here in Honduras, so our traveling library program in cooperation with Friends United Inc. needs your help to get books into the hands of kids hungry for learning! In cases where traveling libraries are not feasible, we also help supply teachers with books to build their own classroom libraries so that there is always something on hand to
