The Princeton Folk Music Society presents a musical journey through time and across the Atlantic with Castlebay on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Christ Congregation Church, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton NJ at 8:00 PM. The duo, Julia Lane and Fred Gosbee, weaves together the heritage of New England and the Celtic lands. Their concerts feature poignant ballads, sung in Lane's ethereal soprano and Gosbee's rich baritone, interspersed with joyous dance tunes played on Celtic harp, guitar, fiddle and tin whistle. “W

Julia Lane has loved, sung, researched and created folk music since childhood. She continues to conduct in-depth research into Celtic and New England social history and folkways. A self-taught player of the Celtic folk harp, she has won three international competitions with her unique style. Julia is a fine vocalist whose voice has been compared favorably with Loreena McKennitt, Jean Redpath and Judy Collins. She also has studied piano, and classical and flamenco guitar.
