A former hospitality manager, I began learning to program after almost-accidentally discovering VBA for Excel. Originally there was no intention of a career change but before long I fell in love with writing code to solve problems - and enjoyed it more so than I had ever enjoyed doing anything . I decided my future lay not with hotels, but with software development.
