15 year old Noah Slocum loved his family, In-N-Out Burgers, Nerf, Pixar, and Legend of Zelda. But more than anything, he loved serving people in Jesus’ name. Especially kids. Every year, as a family, we would pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child . Noah and his sisters would pack a box for a child as close to their age as possible, filling it to the brim with things they would love to play with. Since Noah is now in heaven, as a family we will be filling 150 boxes with goodies for 10-14 year old boys
The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to provide God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. We pack a box full of gifts that will be taken right to a child who otherwise might not be getting any presents for Christmas. Some years, we also included a little “Let’s be friends” coloring sheet and letter to the child. One year Noah got photos and a letter back from a boy in the Philippines.
