Phase 1 of the Newberg-Dundee Bypass is complete. The four-mile expressway extends from OR 219 to OR 99W south of Dundee, with one travel lane in each direction ( see map ). ODOT has been working for many years with local communities to plan the Bypass, which will significantly reduce traffic congestion on OR 99W and improve livability and overall traffic flow in the surrounding communities. The full 11-mile bypass is planned to be a four-lane expressway, two lanes in each direction, from Dayton to just east of Newberg ( see map ). ODOT, in coordination with the local jurisdictions, will soon be working on design of the next phase, from OR 219 to Rex Hill in Newberg.
