To make sure beneficiaries have choices for care, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) changed the start of the NC Medicaid Managed Care Behavioral Health and Intellectual/ Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) Tailored Plans (Tailored Plans) to October 1, 2023 . This will give the Tailored Plans time to add more providers.
Beneficiaries who were enrolled in the Tailored Plans will keep getting behavioral health services, I/DD and traumatic brain injury (TBI) supports through their Local Management Entity/Managed Care Organizations (LME/MCOs) until the Tailored Plans start. They will keep getting physical health and pharmacy services through NC Medicaid Direct.
