If you know me, you know I love reading food-related things. It really started with the Sunday New York Times delivery when I was a kid. It would arrive with great fanfare on the doorstep of 537 Society Drive, only to be split up and consumed by my parents over a homemade Sunday lunch. Not wanting to be the awkward third-wheel to their reading extravaganza, I started reading the Food & Dining section.
I loved reading the restaurant reviews, even though the restaurants existed thousands of miles away in a city I had only frequented a couple of times. Slowly I branched out: I started reading cookbooks and watching the Barefoot Contessa. After a summer in Los Angeles, I started not only following their restaurant scene, but I actually started cooking for myself — my college dining hall days were over.
