HealthWest is the community mental health authority for Muskegon County. In addition to whole person mental health care, HealthWest also provides services in the areas of developmental disabilities, substance use, physical health, and early intervention and prevention. 

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) offers a continuum of services designed to ensure that children are safe and that families have the necessary support to care for their children successfully. Programs offered include the school-based Pathways to Potential (P2P),  Child Protective Services and Foster Care.
