Mountain Medical Arts was started in the mountains of Western North Carolina by Kelly Rothe, DO in 2003 with the help of a National Health Service Corp Loan Repayment Program. She was joined by her husband Jeff Polgar, MD after he completed his NHSC obligation at Blue Ridge Medical Center. Since then they have grown and changed this family-based practice according to the needs of Yancey County, their community and home. Both doctors are board-certified in Family Practice, and in Hospice and Palliative Medic
They were joined by Jonathan Polgar PA-C in September 2018, Dr Polgar’s brother, who shares their practice acumen and style.
Marilyn Robinson remains their vital office manager. Lisa Flynn RN, Lisa Banks MA, and Hayleigh Randolph, MA expertly navigate many roles including nursing, medical assistant, front office, phlebotomy, phones, scheduling, prior authorizations and more, with grace and competence. We all value listening and create a team approach to optimal health for our patients.
