Close Menu Home Contact Eternity as a measuring stick Recently I was listening to Brian Koppelman on the Knowledge Project and he said something that I often think about: “In the great expanse of time, we’re already dead.”

I guess there’s multiple ways to weigh that phrase, but for me it points to the smallness of this life and how precious living really is. It also puts your failures and successes into perspective too. In the context of eternity, they may mean very little. It also makes calculated risks seem less risky and more worth doing – just for the sake of doing them.

It appears that tarot is becoming more popular in the past few years. I’m curious about why that’s the case. Recently I spotted a deck and became totally enamored by the artwork and the modern day twist on classic iconography. The artist, Lisa Sterle , has modernized traditional tarot imagery by showing diverse people from different backgrounds and gender presentations. I also love the integration of cellphones and laptops, which conveys the point of the cards with a bit of modern day cheekiness.
