So, here’s a bit of an essay: I’ve been drawing all environments by hand in this comic. No 3D models, no phototracing, whatever. That means when I have a page with new establishing shots, it takes A VERY LONG TIME. At some point, one realizes they don’t have to “prove” that they know how to draw anymore, and as such, no longer have to party trick their way through every environment. In short, I am going to learn to use Sketchup. That will likely delay the next update, but it will make updates a lot faster o

They’ve been quite impressive, and I’m sure they’ll continue to be quite impressive, because it’s not just your layouts that are fantastic–the colors, the use of lighting and composition, the expressiveness in the posing and the faces, all of it is something I admire artistically. I’m particularly struck on this page by the detail on the shoes (brogues?). Having another tool at your disposal to work with sounds delightful, and I look forward to seeing the results.
