Margaret Crowley is a local artist , a representative and figurative painter fluent in watercolor, oil, acrylic, pencil, ink and egg tempera . Margaret’s work explores the space between the representational and the abstract, expressing her love/loath relationship with the beauty and fashion industries, the manufactured modern beauty paradigm. The large scale of Margaret’s work and the resulting illusion deconstructs the damaging, distorted, unnatural and unattainable fantasy of the modern beauty industry.

Originally a portrait painter, Margaret Crowley has won numerous awards for her work and has exhibited in more than a hundred juried exhibitions . Her work has been published in magazines and books . Margaret teaches figure drawing, figure painting and watercolor at Florida Atlantic University and the Armory Art Center .
