Back when central leader training for mechanically harvested cherries was becoming popular, we planted 5,000 Montmorency whips on 18 acres. It was considered to be a close planting at the time. We learned about central leader training and developed a plastic limb spreader which named twigeeze . They worked so well and became so popular that other products were invented.
Miller Creek is the home of the tree training aid, Twigeeze . Most trees need to be shaped and trained to form a strong central leader for instance. There are several different tree training concepts available, some metal, bamboo, wood and our plastic version. All have benefits, but we think ours has proven itself over time. For example, they are colored a distinctive red for visibility, since growers liked to make sure they were staying in place during a wind storm.
Stakeeze are a series of three length of molded plastic stakes. They feature protrusions to help engage restraint systems such as Vineeze to restrain plants. The protrusions include a stop slip point to restrict any possibility of sliding down the stake. They are made in three sizes, 10 inch, 15 inch, and 20 inch.
