Marcel Hörler is a curator and cultural mediator. His projects, which he situates within a social practice, are characterised by its contexts and contact zones, collaborative working methods and site-specific interventions. He often involves people in the projects who do not see themselves as part of the art system. He was socialized in a working class family, as the white son of a housewife/florist and a truck driver. Marcel Hörler (b. 1988 in Herisau, CH) is based in Zurich. He is co-director/co-founder of Dogo Residenz , co-director of Blickfelder Festival and part of the collective Baby Angel .
How can we materialize joy? To what extent can we recognize and vocalize our desires and needs within power structures? How can we cultivate a practice of care while society suffers from hetero-patriarchal mechanisms?
