macadamiabiochar.co.uk - Macadamia biochar – Biochar from macadamia nut shells for the removal of emerging pollutants in wastewater

Example domain paragraphs

The goal of this project is to engineer nuts into nanoporous activated biochar with suitable properties for the removal of emerging contaminants from wastewater in Thailand, specifically from the most contaminated Southern Thai region.

The nanoporous activated biochar will also be developed for the removal of specially challenging contaminants in UK drinking water that other activated carbons cannot remove.

There are plantations of macadamia in the Northern part of Thailand and the shell has currently low value. This project will add value to a current waste product by making it useful for cleaning water through the transformation of its structure and surface chemistry.
