I cannot remember a time when I didn’t write. My father, Henry Robert Fowler , was a freelance writer and Australian bush poet, and I grew up with a love of words and an understanding that whatever I did in life would involve the creative use of language.
While I was at school, I won several writing competitions, and for some time after leaving school I worked as a copywriter in the publicity department of a television studio.
