The Diocese of Buffalo Ladies of Charity is an organization of women volunteers who embrace the ideas of Saints Vincent de Paul and Louise de Marillac to help the poor. Members strive to break the cycle of poverty in the community and in the world by advocating for social change.
Ladies of Charity was established in France in 1617 by St. Vincent DePaul and St. Louise de Marillac. Ladies of Charity of the United States of America began in Saint Louis Missouri in 1857 and Ladies of Charity of Buffalo began in 1941. The Buffalo Association is one of several of the associations found throughout the United States under the Ladies of Charity USA.
