VIENNA, VA – On July 18, I’ll be speaking at the ACCSES Summer Conference and Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. My talk will focus on the need and importance of building alliances between UCP and other national disability advocacy groups. I will also report on UCP’s recent progress and future plans, including our rapidly growing research initiatives.
ACCSES and UCP have built a strong relationship in recent years, including hosting joint webinars, a presentation by UCP Communications Coordinator James Garcia on the State of Latinos with Disabilities during the ACCSES Winter Conference in Phoenix earlier this year, and the recent participation of ACCSES President and CEO Kate McSweeny in a public policy “fireside chat” with former Nevada Congressman Jon Porter at our Annual Conference in Las Vegas in May.
