After graduating from Columbia Law School, Robert worked alongside the prominent criminal defense attorney known as “The King of Torts,” Melvin Belli. Soon after, he represented one of Napa Valley’s largest early landowners with whom he worked for many years. There were only about eight vineyards in Napa Valley at that time!
Robert was instrumental in overseeing the management and creation of numerous vineyards and wineries, including buying and selling hundreds of acres of land over the years throughout that region. One notable sale was to Robert Mondavi at the inception of his wine empire after leaving Charles Krug Winery.
