I attended one of the State of California public universities where I studied world culture and comparative religion , taking a degree in Global Studies (picture political science mashed with every other humanities and social studies field and you’ll have a good idea of the program) from the Global and International Studies department. I was really fascinated by the Dharmic religions–Buddhism, Hindu philosophy, Jainism, the list went on.
Kinda related to that exploration, in 2010 I became a Moral Realist, believing that morals are real and not merely emotions because of the Facts-Value gap, which I explain here . Now, as a Christian, I’m still learning more to this day. If you know some things, let me know!
Growing up I was an athlete who played water polo , an outdoorsman who became an Eagle Scout , a youth explorer with a State of California search and rescue team, and a volunteer puppy raiser for a leading non-profit in San Rafael. I completed a Bachelor of Arts qualification, studying in an interdisciplinary ‘international relations’ program. I think aspects of these have stuck with me in one form or another.
