The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Lexington Nebraska is to be the area’s affordable housing of choice. We provide and maintain safe, quality housing in a cost-effective manner. By partnering with others, we offer rental assistance and other related services to our community in a non-discriminatory manner.
The Housing Authority of the City of Lexington (LHA) was created and established in 1962 by the City of Lexington. The agency was established as it was declared to be a need for a Housing Authority to function in said City. LHA is governed by a board of commissioners appointed by the President of the City Council with the approval of the City Council. LHA does not receive assistance from and operates independently from the City of Lexington.
LHA consists Public housing with 49 units named East Lawn located at 300 N Monroe and 32 scattered site housing units throughout Lexington. There are 48 Multifamily Units named East Lawn Addition located at 300 N Fillmore. There are 18 Elderly Units named NAF Senior Housing located at 715 E 3 rd Street Lexington. Lastly, LHA also owns 8 single family dwellings throughout Lexington.
