LegFit is an intermittent pneumatic compression device used for the treatment of various venous disorders and for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), especially after surgery and long hospital stay. The basic mode of action is the reversal of venous stasis and to prevent blood clotting. It helps to relieve all conditions of chronic venous diseases (edemas, heavy and swollen legs, varicose veins, leg ulcers). It can also prevent venous disorders during pregnancy and long-distance travel.

The medical advantages of IPC are well documented in several hundred studies and strongly recommended in international guidelines, for example the S1 Guideline on Intermittent Pneumatic Compression of the German Society for Phlebology (AWMF037/007) or the Antithrombotic therapy and Prevention of Thrombosis, 9 th edition, of the American College of Chest Physicians Evidence-Based Clinical Practice guidelines.

One of the remaining problems after a successful IPC treatment during hospital stay is that the patient is discharged without having the possibility to continue the IPC therapy.
