The Kennedy Mine Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation formed in 1996 to preserve the Kennedy Mine and mine property for its historical significance and wildlife habitat. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1997 the deed to the Kennedy Mine property was transferred to the Foundation from the estate of Sybil Arata.
