Hi, I’m Jacob Charles Walker. I am a Ph.D. student at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University . My advisors are Abhinav Gupta and Martial Hebert . Currently I am working on visual forecasting, its relationship with unsupervised learning from video, and generative models. More generally, I am interested in Computer Vision, applied Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence.

During my time as a student, I have done research internships at Apple as well as Google. At Google I worked under Bill Freeman’s VisCam group with Tali Dekel and Miki Rubinstein .

Before joining the Robotics Institute, I obtained a B.S. in Computer Science, a B.S. in Economics, and a B.S. in Mathematics from Michigan State University . While an undergraduate, I had the opportunity to work with Yali Amit at the University of Chicago on Neural Networks. I also worked at the BEACON Center under Robert Pennock , Charles Ofria , and Fred Dyer studying Artificial Life.
