As I mentioned in class, I unfortunately have to miss our class on September 24th due to an important meeting. So in class we agreed that we were going to switch the week 4 and week 5 schedule. This means that WE WILL meet for class on Friday, September 17th and on that day we will be discussing the Encomium to Helen essay. There is no other homework between now and then.
The following week, we will NOT meet on September 24th and instead use that time to work on your prequel/sequel/revisions of your chosen story (Space Traders OR Woman Hollering).
The reading for this week is intended to give us a starting point in understanding rhetoric. Rhetoric studies has a very long history and we are beginning with one of the earliest texts composed by the sophist Gorgias. Here’s a video that helps give you some context into rhetoric studies.
