Description: Historical documents and modern papers on the relationship between science and faith
During a total solar eclipse, Arthur Eddington completed the measurements of the deflections displayed from the rays of stars near the solar disc. Eddington thus succeeded in confirming, just a few years before the publication of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity , those aspects that presaged the curvature of the space-time continuum in the presence of intense gravitational fields, and therefore the curvature of the trajectories of the photons that passed near to them.
