Burgoyne was born in Glasgow Scotland, studied at Universität Für Angewandte Vienna & MA painting Royal college of Art London.
He engages in a broad based site- specific drawing practice that embraces film, live performance, installation, sound, text, publishing and presentation at conference. Key to this is an ongoing interest in the visualising of the invisible, as such the paradox of drawing as a radical reappraisal of an intensification of bareness, and engagement with that situation of nothing as some-thing coming into appearance.
