I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews for this one. Most of the complaints were that it felt rushed, the magic system was confusing, and the chemistry between the MCs could have been better. I kind of agree with all of that, but at the same time enjoyed this. I do wish the magic system had been a little less complicated, and I would have liked a little more slow-burn tension, but Carissa Broadbent is a powerhouse writer who always keeps me entertained.
