Destination Augusta is on a mission to see Augusta become a region utilizing this authentic mode of transportation to create a unique experience in our city by providing shuttling capabilities, reducing emissions and traffic, and cultivating and environment of FUN as visitors and locals traverse downtown.
In 2018, the City of Augusta enacted an ordinance allowing for Personal Transportation Vehicles (PTV’s) to be operated in downtown Augusta. With minimum safety requirements on the cart and an official permit from the City, a business or a resident may operate a golf cart in downtown. The permit is only $15 and is good for 5 years.
