Megan moved to the Tulsa area in 2013 to pursue her PhD in English at the University of Tulsa. During that time she organized conferences, taught classes, pulled a few all-nighters, and worked to finish her dissertation.
She became friends with Annie Paige, another PhD student at TU. In August 2018, during a mutual friend’s birthday party, Annie brought up the idea of introducing Megan to her husband Seth’s good friend Ian. Megan was initially apprehensive about the idea, as she was very busy finishing her PhD, but kept it in mind as Annie brought it up over the next few months.
